Ammar Hejazi was born in Damascus, Syria on October 4, 1992. At the age of 21, in the midst of the Syrian civil war, Ammar left his hometown to the United States to study architecture and pursuit his dream of becoming a movie director. He now lives in Lexington, Kentucky. In 2007, Ammar made his first debut as a theater actor in an interactive play ”Your Turn”.

Ammar joined The Syrian Trust for Development as a volunteer actor seeking the opportunity to grow and nurture his talent.

In 2009, Ammar participated in an interactive play sponsored by The Syrian Trust for Development and won the Youth Theater Festival second best actor award.

In 2014, started writing the script of his first movie “One Day” a Romance based on a real story, completing it in the summer of the same year. Later, in the same year “One Day” script was presented to The University of Kentucky, where the latest offered all the support to help him present his first project as a writer and a director.

In February 2015, “One Day” intro was published on social media and YouTube.

In May 2016, Ammar wrote and directed “Where are You?”, an original song from “One Day”, and was released in the summer of 2016.

“Close Shots” an independent production company and YouTube media channel. Through Close Shots, they have been using their experience in screenwriting and directing to critique and review Middle Eastern TV Shows as well as keeping up with the changes and developments in the field.
 
In addition to establishing a channel considered the first of its kind in the Arab world, they took advantage of their success to document Syrian drama since its inception. Today, after more than 22,000,000 views and 120,000 subscribers, Close Shots is one of the first references to what was previously produced and what is being produced in the near future in the Arab world’s entertainment industry.
